What this skill does
Text-to-speech conversion using node-edge-tts npm package for generating audio from text.
Supports multiple voices, languages, speed adjustment, pitch control, and subtitle generation.
Use when: (1) User requests audio/voice output with the "tts" trigger or keyword. (2) Content needs to be spoken rather than read (multitasking, accessibility, driving, cooking). (3) User wants a specific voice, speed, pitch, or format for TTS output.
How to install Edge TTS
The easiest path is via the OpenClaw Easy desktop app — one click, no terminal required:
- Download OpenClaw Easy for macOS or Windows (free, one-click installer, ~30 seconds).
- Open the in-app Skills panel.
- Search for
edge-ttsand click Install. - The skill activates automatically when an incoming message matches its description.
Manual install (advanced)
If you prefer manual installation:
- Click the Download .zip button above to grab
edge-tts-2.0.0.zipdirectly from our S3 mirror. - Unzip into
~/.openclaw/skills/edge-tts/(create the directory if it does not exist). - Restart OpenClaw Easy (or the OpenClaw CLI gateway) so the new skill is discovered.
