Short version: OpenClaw Easy runs locally on your machine. Your conversations, messages, and API keys are never stored on our servers. We collect only minimal, anonymous usage data to understand how the app is being used.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

OpenClaw Easy is designed to keep your personal data on your own machine. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • The content of your messages or conversations on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Feishu, or Line
  • Your AI provider API keys
  • Your conversation history with AI models
  • Your contacts or phone numbers
  • Your agent configuration or system prompts
  • Any files or media processed by the app

All of the above data stays exclusively on your local machine.

2.2 Anonymous Usage Telemetry

To understand how many people are actively using OpenClaw Easy and which features are most useful, we collect a small amount of anonymous, non-personal telemetry data, including:

  • A randomly generated anonymous device identifier (not linked to your identity)
  • Your operating system and CPU architecture (e.g., macOS arm64, Windows x64)
  • The AI provider type currently active (e.g., "cloud", "local") — not the specific key or model name
  • A daily active usage signal (a date stamp indicating the app was used, with no content)
  • App version number

This data cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used solely for aggregate product analytics (for example, "how many users are active today" or "what percentage use local models").

You can opt out of telemetry in the app's Settings at any time.

2.3 Website Analytics

The OpenClaw Easy website (openclaw-easy.com) uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic. Google Analytics collects standard web analytics data such as page views, session duration, and referral sources using cookies. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

2.4 Premium Plan Subscribers

If you purchase a premium plan, we collect the information necessary to process your payment and manage your subscription, including your email address and billing details. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment provider and your full payment card details are never stored on our servers.

3. How Your Data Flows Through the App

When you use OpenClaw Easy, here is exactly what happens with your data:

  • Your messages are received by the app on your local machine from the messaging platform (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.).
  • AI inference: the message is sent from your machine directly to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or a local Ollama instance). If you use a local model, no message ever leaves your machine. If you use a cloud provider, your message is sent directly to that provider under their own privacy policy.
  • The AI response is returned to your machine and forwarded to the messaging platform.
  • At no point in this flow does OpenClaw Easy's infrastructure see or store the content of your messages.

4. Third-Party AI Providers

When you use a cloud AI provider with your own API key, your messages are processed under that provider's terms and privacy policy:

5. Data Retention

Anonymous telemetry data is retained for up to 24 months for aggregate analytics purposes and then deleted. Premium subscriber account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 90 days after cancellation, then deleted.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we do collect. Telemetry data is stored in secured cloud infrastructure with access restricted to the development team. We do not sell your data to any third party.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Deletion: request that we delete your data
  • Opt-out: disable anonymous telemetry in the app Settings at any time
  • Portability: request your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

OpenClaw Easy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the app or via email (for premium subscribers). Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
